We work with land managers to restore soil health, improve water retention, and increase yield stability, using regeneration practices such as biochar that generate measurable agronomic value. By integrating these practices with robust digital monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV), we enable carbon removals that are credible, traceable, and suitable for carbon markets.

Biochar plays a central role in our approach because its carbon is stable for centuries and can be measured with high confidence, making it one of the most robust forms of carbon removal available today. As demand for high-integrity removals grows, particularly from large technology buyers investing in Latin America, TehaGreen connects regenerative land management with scalable carbon market demand. The company was founded by practitioners who have seen first-hand how land degradation affects farmers and ecosystems, and who believe regeneration must work both on the ground and in the carbon economy.

Our funders

Founded by Nilton Freire Neves Jr (Co-founder & CEO) and Gianfranco Villamonte (Co-founder & CTO), TehaGreen combines deep field experience with strong technical execution. Nilton is a Brazilian engineer raised by farmer parents in the Amazon, with an MBA from Kellogg and an M.S. in Sustainability from Johns Hopkins. He brings 25+ years of global experience as an entrepreneur, Coca-Cola marketing executive, and Deloitte consultant. Gianfranco is a Peruvian biologist trained at Wageningen University, with field experience across the Andes and the Amazon. With 10+ years at the intersection of ecology, data science, and automation, he has built LCA and MRV systems and helped scale land restoration, agroforestry, and carbon solutions across Latin America and Europe.
